With time, weather, environment the car stays in, the contaminants might build up over time on the surface, which doesn’t go in a normal wash. In this scenario, the hydrophobic effect might not be like the freshly coated car. However, It still performs to show its benefits. The contaminants are also removed in the subsequent maintenance regimes and would continue to show the water beading effect.
